coalitions

coalesce for change

Not every issue is black and white. Not every American is red or blue. Not every struggle is win or lose. Finally, a tool for the millions of passionate Americans who are more than just members of a party. But though we throw aside institutional partisanship, we are not alone, for each of us is a member of many different coalitions.

You're probably tired of hearing it said, but it's true: politics in the United States is failing. Meaningful policy change cannot advance because there is no longer a forum for reasoned discussion, and well-meaning people feel they have no choice but to ally themselves with one of two unsavory choices.

This suits the limited attention span of our conflict-obsessed media, and suits narrow special interests who seek only victory for their niche concerns. It does not at all suit us, the American people, or the government we deserve.

It does not have to be this way, and you have the power to change things. Just imagine...

What if there was an outlet beyond the mainstream and partisan media in which we could express our full range of opinions, regardless of our affiliations?

What if we had a forum in which we could discuss and debate with those who both agree and disagree with us, as well as with others who are simply trying to form new opinions?

What if we had a tool that took advantage of the power of the social web that made it easy and exciting to form coalitions of people based on your values to help further an agenda that means something to you?

That solution is here. Welcome to Coalitions.US.Org.

At The Coalitions Project, you will:

  • Discover: See where you place on a nuanced, multidimensional political axis that reflects values rather than partisan allegiance, and discover new allies, friends, and causes based on the data you've provided to take you even further.
  • Communicate: Debate and discuss politics and policy with like-minded as well as differently-minded people who are just as passionate about the issues that matter to you.
  • Coalesce: Form coalitions of people who share your values on whatever mix of issues you care most about.
  • Act: Take all you've learned, the alliances you've made, the coalitions you've formed, and work together to get things done.

Let's not be dainty here. We're doing this because we want to save the country, and we're crazy enough to think we can. At this point in our history, American politics really does seem to be hurtling out of control, but we believe that you can put us back on course, with the help of the knowledge, allies, and tools you will find here at Coalitions.US.Org.

Are you ready to dive in? Let's see what we can get done together.
